The Vacuum tank system serves as a buffer for the fish that are pumped from the vessel's RSW storage tanks through the suction pipes.
A vacuum is created inside the vacuum tank. When the tank's inlet valve is opened, the fish is sucked in. There is a level switch on the tank that signals when the tank is full. Once the tank reaches capacity, the inlet valve closes, and the outlet valve opens, allowing the fish to slide out of the vacuum tank through the outlet side. This process enables the fish to be supplied and processed in batches.
The Vacuum tank is made entirely from AISI 316 stainless steel and adheres to current safety requirements. Its operation is controlled by the Afak operating system.
